Acousto Optic Modulator 1030nm IR AOM Fiber Coupled PM Low loss Pulse Pick and Amplitude Shape
fiber coupled AOM for 1030 nm IR wavelength, with PM1060L or equivelent fiber (PM 10/125).
Key Features are Peak power handling of 30 kW peak (10-20 ps pulse duration), with Average power of 5 W ,rise/fall time of ~10 ns
The application is to pulse pick and amplitude shape the output of a modelocked fiber laser.
Pulse Pickers
electrically controlled optical switches used for extracting single pulses from a pulse train.Ultrashort pulses are in most cases generated by a mode-locked laser in the form of a pulse train with a pulse repetition rate of the order of 10 MHz – 10 GHz. For various reasons (see below), it is often necessary to pick certain pulses from such a pulse train, i.e., to transmit only certain pulses and block all the others. This can be done with a pulse picker, which is essentially an electrically controlled optical switch.
Modelocked fiber laser:
The mode-locked fiber laser is the primary means of generating ultrafast pulses with extremely high peak powers and incredibly wide spectra. Nonlinear polarization evolution is particularly favored by researchers as the main method to realize passively mode-locked fiber laser .
